Meet the PAYT Staff

Liz Sweeney

Liz Sweeney

Founder and Artistic Director

Liz Sweeney is a director, actor, and mother. Born and raised in the Bronx, she studied Performance at Marymount Manhattan College, and received her Masters Degree in Applied Theater at The City University of New York. Liz has dedicated her professional career to running theater programs for New York City youth, as well as senior citizens, under the auspices of The Park Avenue Methodist Church's secular programming. She is the founder and director of The Park Avenue Youth Theater, an ensemble of students ages 4 though 18, which meets weekly to develop original theater.

Nicole Serra

Associate Director

Throughout the past 16 years in NYC, Nicole has served as an actor, director, playwright, producer, and stage manager. As a theatre educator, she has worked with Creative Arts Team, Two River Theatre, New York City Children's Theatre, Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), Leap, CentreStage, and Theatre Arts Center. She also loves to dance and sing off-key (loudly). She holds a B.A. in Theatre and English from University of Miami and a M.A. in Applied Theatre from CUNY. 

Nora Fritsch

Nora Fritsch

Production Manager

Nora Fritsch is a production and administrative staff member providing technical and creative support for The Park Avenue Youth Theater. She is a graduate of The City University of New York at Lehman College with a B.A. in Theatre. Nora currently works with the PAUMC as a Sunday School teacher for ages 2-5, and has worked on multiple shows with PAYT. Recently, she interned with Bronx Arts Ensemble working with public school children ages 8-10 to support them in creating theatre. Nora brings a wealth of experience from her years as a member and later as costume assistant with CUNY’s Creative Arts Team Youth Theater, her work for the NYC City Council, and as a founding board member of the Lehman Legacy Playhouse. In addition to PAYT, Nora, has designed and managed the official websites for Save Chelsea and the Buttonwood Foundation, as a web designer who creates the look, layout, and features of the organization’s website, reflecting the organization’s brand and values.
